Life is like an ocean wave,

With lots of crests and troughs,

At its best, you ride the crest,

But then, you’ll have it rough,

Sometimes, you think,

I’ll ride this crest, all the way to town!

But then, a new wave comes along

And SPLAT!  It knocks you down!   😊

In a jungle river swimming,

In just a little while,

A little man swam up to

A large crocodile,

 

He said, “Sir, it would complete me,

Could you tell me, now or later,

Just before you eat me,

How you differ from a gator?”

 

The croc smiled and said,

“I want to appease you,

But why care, you’ll soon be dead?

But I’ll answer, just to please you!”

 

“Crocs have a toothier grin,

So, I will chew you well,

But sometimes, Sir, you don’t need

To sweat such small details!”   😊

Sometimes, I wonder

Before I’m gone,

Should I do more

To atone,

For my transgressions

And any strife,

I’ve caused to others

In my life,

There are mountains

To climb,

And goals to reach,

But, no, I’ll just stay here,

On the beach.

ROCKY ROADS AND LOYAL FRIENDS

If my life is like a truck,

Its shocks are surely shot,

Rockin’ down this rocky road,

Bad luck is all I’ve got,

 

No job, no life, no dough,

Just sickness, death, and grief,

Happiness is my foe,

A bottle: my relief,

 

But on this rocky road beside me,

My one true, loyal friend,

My dog will not deride me,

He’ll stick by me til the end.   😊

LIFE’S TRUTHS!

I lay, deep down

In dark despair,

Life had grabbed me

And tossed me there,

 

But then, your smile

Filled me with glee,

Perhaps life wants me

To be happy!

 

But then, life is cruel,

Don’t you see,

Your smile was for one

Next to me!

 

But then, I realized,

Forsooth!

Happiness lies within,

That’s the truth!   😊
