A TRIP BACK HOME!
I took my love back home
To meet my kin,
You’ll never guess
What happened then!
Ma was on the front porch,
As was her habit,
Canning beans and knitting,
All while skinning a rabbit,
Pa was out back,
Dancing a jig,
While sharing a jug
With a one-eyed pig,
Things went plum crazy
After that,
My love met Uncle Clem
With his coonskin hat,
Things were jest fine
Til Clem tipped his cap,
And my love saw the raccoon
Was still a living chap!
My love skedaddled,
It’s half past noon,
Tell her I love her
And to come back soon! 😊

Love is often like
A sweet honey bee
Filled with nectar,
Flying happily,
And, like the bee,
When it takes flight,
Love can also
Reach great heights,
But please listen,

Is there a sign?
That he’s really not
Your true Valentine?
For instance, does he track mud
Onto your floor?
If so, then quickly, show him
Back out the door!
Does he watch Shakira dance
“Just for her song?”
Then, it may be a sign
He’s just “Mr. Wrong!”
And when you’re not watching,
Can you also tell that
He’s really trading insults
With your sweet little cat?
And does he react to all your plans
Like he’s diseased with Mad Cow?
Then, you know he’s not “Mr. Right,”
It’s a sign he’s “Mr. Right NOW!” 😊

Being a grandpa
Is really grand!
It’s the grandest thing
Which God has planned!
It’s like God has given me
A second glimpse,
Of my own darling,
Little imps!
I can’t have enough,
If I only have four,
I’ll always dream
Of having four more!
And grandpa visits,
