(Today, I wanted to compose a more serious poem, but, don’t worry, tomorrow, I plan to return to lighthearted stuff!)
LIFE’S STARK REALITY
When we were young,
We thought we’d live forever,
And until death’s bell has rung,
Most will dream on and never
Heed the signs that time
Is not on our side,
But our dreams, so sublime,
Will soon collide,
With life’s stark reality,
That we are here, then gone,
No immortal banality,
And all will die, alone, alone.
