BEING A GRANDPA!

BEING A GRANDPA!

Being a grandpa

Is really grand!

It’s the grandest thing

Which God has planned!

It’s like God has given me

A second glimpse,

Of my own darling,

Little imps!

I can’t have enough,

If I only have four,

I’ll always dream

Of having four more!

And grandpa visits,

End like this sweet poem,

You sugar ‘em up,

And send ‘em home!   😊

MY GRANDPA’S LOVE

MY GRANDPA’S LOVE

I’ll always remember Grandpa,

A kind and gentle man,

He loved me, just like Grandma,

He was my biggest fan,

We played with toys,

Sang songs, read books,

He gave such joy,

Many laughs and looks!

He helped name my dolls,

He took me places,

We had a ball,

Many happy faces!

And though he’s gone,

I’ll always see,

My grandpa’s love,

Lives on in me!   😊

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!

Christmas tree 14

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!

I don’t want to go home for Christmas,

There is no peace at home,

I’d rather visit Panama’s Isthmus,

Or drive dog sleds up at Nome,

It’s not I don’t love my family,

All my uncles, aunts, and their brats,

But I just want some peace this year,

That is where I’m at,

But I love my nephews and niece,

And enjoyed their laughter in the past,

Maybe I shouldn’t choose peace,

They’re growing up so fast,

And my aunt’s fruitcake “brick,”

Oh, I love her so,

But what’s her recipe trick,

It’s a big “ho ho NO!”

And then, there’s my dear grandma,

Such bad health in the past,

Who knows, now, if I don’t go,

This could be her last,

So, yes, I’ve changed my mind,

You will find me this year at home,

I choose love over peace,

Maybe, next year, I’ll choose Nome!   😊

MY MEAN MOTHER IN LAW!

witch

[Please note that the following poem is mostly fictional and meant only for fun

and is not meant to disparage anyone in particular, nor mothers in law

generally, many of whom are quite sweet and human!]  😊

MY MEAN MOTHER IN LAW

Let me tell you a frightening tale

About the meanest hag I ever saw,

This creature’s surely bound for Hell,

She’s my mean mother in law!

She has sharp claws in her paws,

And her churlish lips drip with lies,

She would frighten Santa Claus

With her evil, beady eyes!

Her horns are well hidden

In her drab, stringy hair,

She’s a cold-hearted demon

If there’s even a heart there!

She loves to stir the pot

She loves to fight and fuss,

She could make a flower wilt

And make a preacher cuss!

If you think I’m being harsh,

You couldn’t be any wronger,

She made a pact with brother Satan

Just to stay here a little longer!

So, please heed my tale,

Beware this evil creature!

Run for the hills!

Before she catches ya and eats yer!   😊
