HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!

I don’t want to go home for Christmas,

There is no peace at home,

I’d rather visit Panama’s Isthmus,

Or drive dog sleds up at Nome,

It’s not I don’t love my family,

All my uncles, aunts, and their brats,

But I just want some peace this year,

That is where I’m at,

But I love my nephews and niece,

And enjoyed their laughter in the past,

Maybe I shouldn’t choose peace,

They’re growing up so fast,

And my aunt’s fruitcake “brick,”

Oh, I love her so,

But what’s her recipe trick,

It’s a big “ho ho NO!”

And then, there’s my dear grandma,

Such bad health in the past,

Who knows, now, if I don’t go,

This could be her last,

So, yes, I’ve changed my mind,

You will find me this year at home,

I choose love over peace,

Maybe, next year, I’ll choose Nome!   😊

MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS PIE!

MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS PIE!

Take three cups of rum

And one cup of flour,

Make your mixer hum

For half an hour,

Next, take an eye of newt,

And a pinch of paprika,

Rooty-toot-toot,

You go, Chica!

Here’s what it’s about,

Mix in one hickory nut,

Then, throw it ALL out,

And let’s go to Pizza Hut!   😊

HOW SANTA SAVED CHRISTMAS!

HOW SANTA SAVED CHRISTMAS

Early Christmas eve, Santa took a wee, short nap,

Suddenly, Mrs. Claus came in and gave him a brisk slap!

“Wake up, you’ve overslept!  It’s almost Christmas day!”

Santa dashed to his sleigh and soon he dashed away,

“Something feels so breezy, could there be a chance?”

“That I have dashed away without wearing any pants?!”

“What shall I do?  There will be such horrid tales,”

“If I climb down a chimney and they see my jingle bells!”

Suddenly, Santa thought, he recalled a sewing kit,

There, inside the sleigh, a gift for a Mr. Pitt,

Santa took some red material and sewed and sewed away,

He made new pants, and perchance, that’s how he saved Christmas Day!   🙂

NAUGHTY OR NICE?!

Santa list

[Disclaimer:  For any children reading this poem, please note that it is ALWAYS better to be nice!  And if Santa is reading this, I hope he has a good sense of humor!]

NAUGHTY OR NICE?!

Santa is coming!

Were you naughty or nice?

Please listen to me

And take my advice,

Sometimes, being naughty

Is more fun, than some

Of Santa’s gifts,

Which are ho, ho hum!

So, listen to me,

Make giggles, my advice!

Sometimes, it’s better

To be naughty, not nice!   🙂
