OLD AND INVISIBLE
When you look over here,
What do you see?
Do you see an old man?
Do you even see me?
The young do not see
How fast time flies,
Or that we
Are all doomed to die,
Maybe you think
I am glum and gloomy,
But maybe, too,
You are dumb and doomed, see,
Yesterday, I was young
Just like you,
Soon, you’ll be old,
And invisible, too.
I would like to send my regards to you,
That is life, everyone has to go through,
We couldn’t do anything to change that,
And I would smile when I must too.

Thank you so much! This poem isn’t about me. It simply reflects my concern for the elderly and is an observation about life and human nature.
